SQB Obtains International I-REC Certification

SQB has received the international I-REC certificate, confirming the renewable origin of electricity used by the Bank.
The certification marks another important step in SQB’s commitment to sustainable development, responsible energy consumption and the implementation of ESG principles across its operations.
The Bank’s transition towards greener energy is already producing tangible results. Solar power plants with a total installed capacity of 1,758 kW have been deployed across SQB’s regional branches, covering 29.7% of their total electricity consumption.
By expanding the use of solar energy, SQB is reducing its reliance on conventional energy sources, improving resource efficiency and consistently lowering the environmental impact of its operations.
The I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) is an internationally recognized system that verifies the renewable origin of electricity and enables organizations to transparently document their use of renewable energy.
For SQB, obtaining the certificate is another step towards integrating sustainable practices into its day-to-day operations and strengthening transparency in its ESG initiatives.
