Many parents ask: is it possible to issue a bank card for a child if they do not yet have a passport?
The answer is yes, provided certain conditions are met.
Until the age of 16 (before obtaining a passport), a child’s bank card can be issued with the participation of one of the parents or a legal representative.
The card issuance procedure is as follows:
the parent (legal representative) issues a bank card in their own name
(if they do not already have an active bank card);
based on the parent’s application, an additional bank card in the child’s name is issued.
Such a card allows the child to use funds under parental supervision and helps gradually develop financial responsibility.
To issue a bank card, the parent (legal representative) must personally visit the bank and provide the following documents:
an identity document;
PINFL (Personal Identification Number of an Individual);
the child’s birth certificate.
