SQB has obtained the international ISO 14001 certification

On June 23 of the current year, SQB was awarded the international ISO 14001:2015 certificate for its effective environmental management system. This document confirms that the Bank’s activities in the field of environmental responsibility are organized in accordance with international standards.

As part of the implementation of the Presidential Decree dated January 30, 2025, “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Strategy ‘Uzbekistan – 2030’ in the Year of Environmental Protection and the ‘Green Economy’,” large-scale measures are being carried out in the country to ensure the environmental transformation of industries and sectors.

In particular, within SQB, systematic work is being carried out on the rational use of resources, assessment and reduction of environmental risks, elimination of factors negatively affecting the environment, financing of “green” projects, and the introduction of environmental innovations.

Compliance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard was confirmed as a result of multi-stage audits conducted by international auditors. Following the audit, full compliance of the Bank’s environmental management system with all requirements was confirmed, and the соответствующий certificate was issued.

Obtaining this certificate represents not only international recognition but also an important strategic step toward strengthening corporate sustainability and building reliable partnerships. This achievement opens up opportunities to enhance the Bank’s image, strengthen public trust, and effectively mitigate environmental risks.

In recent years, the Bank has identified environmental protection and support for the “green economy” among its key priorities. In the projects financed by the Bank, particular importance is placed on compliance with environmental requirements, ensuring energy efficiency, and the use of “green” technologies.

Thus, the Bank intends to continue actively contributing to the development of environmental sustainability and the “green” economy.
