Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank is expanding strategic cooperation with European banks

Delegation of SQB visited Italy, France, and Germany on May 4-7 of this year and agreements amounting over $230 million were executed with foreign partners following the visit.

In the frame of this visit, meetings were held with representatives from Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, AKA Bank, ODDO BHF, UniCredit, and other leading European financial institutions.

These meetings were organized to implement the objectives set following the first Central Asia-European Union Summit, held in 2025, as well as within the framework of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union.

During the dialogue, the parties discussed areas to strengthen long-term cooperation with European financial institutions, attract new investors to the country’s financial market, and support priority investment projects.

In addition, particular attention was paid to the transformation processes underway at SQB, project and trade financing, the development of retail services and capital markets, and key reforms in Uzbekistan's banking and financial system.

The funds attracted under the agreements will be utilised to support trade finance, provide financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, and establish new jobs.
